Aditya Vij brings rich management experience spanning over three decades in the corporate world with a proven track record of developing and turning around businesses in various leadership positions.

Aditya Vij, CEO Fortis Healthcare Limited, has been instrumental in intensifying the company’s focus on healthcare delivery in India and in positioning Fortis among the fastest growing integrated Healthcare delivery organizations, by broadening clinical footprint, adding new specialties and strengthening Human Resource processes. He is responsible for building a common culture in the organization based on Fortis values of Patient Centricity, Integrity, Teamwork, Ownership and Innovation. Under his leadership, Fortis has launched several new hospitals including, the most advanced destination hospital in Asia, the Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurgaon.

Aditya is a Chartered Accountant from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and an MBA from International Institute for Management Development (IMD), Lausanne, Switzerland. Prior to joining Fortis Healthcare in July 2011, Aditya was with Punj Lloyd where he held the position of Group President – Defense, a role in which he was responsible for setting up the Defense and Nuclear Power verticals for the Group.

Prior to his tenure with Punj Lloyd, Aditya had a distinguished innings of 18 years with General Motors, Europe, across five countries in Europe and Asia. Some of the key positions he held with GM include General Director – Opel Southeast Europe, Hungary, Chairman & Managing Director – GM India and Regional Executive Director – Nordic, Benelux & Switzerland. Among his significant achievements at GM were establishing a strong GM footprint in Central Europe, the expansion of production capacity at car manufacturing plants several-fold, the establishment of an engineering & R&D Centre for Global competitiveness and the setting up of a shared services centre for GM Units worldwide.


Mr. Ashish Bhatia

Mr. Ashish Bhatia, has a rich and varied experience of over 28 years and is an alumnus of The Lawrence School, Sanawar. He started his career with the Tea Gardens at Assam and prior to joining Fortis, he was Vice President – Marketing with Hero Motors.

Ashish Bhatia in his current position of Chief Operating Officer with Fortis Healthcare Limited handles the overall operations of all hospitals of Fortis in India. He has been associated with Fortis Healthcare since its inception and has held many key positions within the group during the past twelve years.

Mr. Ashish Bhatia has created successful businesses modules and powerful teams across the Fortis network and aspires to lead the large and dynamic teams of Fortis Hospitals to continuously provide world-class healthcare with patient centricity as its goal.

Mr. Ashish Bhatia is also actively re-defining the Corporate Social Responsibility program of Fortis Group, introducing several significant CSR projects in different hospitals such as Chetna – a special initiative for the underprivileged girl child, Sahaayak, a support initiative for Dialysis patients, Sarthak – a special initiative for cancer patients and a “heartline” project (for underprivileged children), in conjunction with Rotary International.


Mr. Sandeep Puri

Mr. Sandeep Puri, a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, joined us from Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd. where he had a long stint of 21 years. While with Ranbaxy he worked at various positions in Russia, South Africa, China, Romania and United Kingdom. His last assignment was as the Regional Finance Director – Europe. In this role he was working with Regional and Functional Directors, enabling business delivery by providing leadership in finance function for 13 operational clusters in Europe covering 23 markets.

Mr. Puri joined Fortis Group in March, 2012 as Chief Financial Officer. As a senior member of the management team, Mr. Puri is responsible for driving the finance function of the Indian Operations and supporting value creation for the organization. In addition, he will provide leadership to the global consolidation process and reporting of financials of the company as per IGAAP statutory requirements.

As an ethical watchdog within the Group would also work towards creating concrete measures to maintain and protect a transparent and a well-balanced system of corporate governance that goes beyond just compliance.

Mr. Puri is also closely involved in the Company’s initiative for adoption of latest IT applications in operations and management for effective Management Information & Decision Support Systems.


Mr. Raghunath P.

Mr. Raghunath is a Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant with more than 17 years’ experience in IT/ITES and Healthcare industries. He has worked with Companies like Scope International and Sify Limited where he has worked in key positions focusing on organization performance and controls. Since October 2012 he has been Financial Controller of Fortis Malar and has been involved in formulation of business strategies.

Dr. Nithya Ramamurthy

Dr. Nithya is a Senior Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist having more than 38 years of rich experience as a medical professional. She has worked as Medical Officer at Govt. Hospital, Serambun, West Malaysia and then worked as Director & Obstetrician & Gynecologist at Malar Polyclinic, Chennai. Later, she has promoted Malar Hospitals (now Fortis Malar Hospitals) along with her husband.

Dr. Nithya Ramamurthy specializes in Gynaecology & Obstetrics and also holds the record performing over 10,000 Laproscopic Surgeries. She is also a member of ‘Inner Wheel of India’ and Member of ‘Federation of Obstetrician & Gynaecologists Association’, South India.


Mr. Ramesh Lakshman Adige

Mr. Ramesh Lakshman Adige, a Non-Executive Independent Director, is a B.E. from bits Pilani and has a Post Graduate degree from the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi. He has 40 years of international exposure with proven track record in the areas of healthcare, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, financial services, marketing, branding, consumer durables, Global Corporate Communications, EHS, Administration, Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainability Reporting, Intellectual Property Policy, Public Affairs, Public Policy & Higher Education. He is currently on the Board of Directors of Syndicate Bank, Premier Limited; Member of the Governing Council of T.A. Pai Management Institute, Manipal; Co-opted member of Biodiversity Foundation of NCT of Delhi; Member of Expert Committee of National Formulary of India and Chairman of PHD Rural Development Foundation.

Mr. Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu

Mr. Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu, a Non-Executive, Independent Director, is an MBA from Philadelphia University, USA, is the Chairman and Managing Director of Lakshmi Machine Works Ltd. (LMW), Coimbatore which is one of the three leading Textile Machinery Manufacturers in the world, manufacturing the complete range of textile spinning machinery. He is a Trustee of the Kuppuswamy Naidu Charity Trust for Education and Medical Relief, which runs a multi-speciality 550 bedded hospital and a Higher Secondary School and a feeder school in Coimbatore and an Arts College in Kovilpatti, Tamil Nadu. He is the Trustee of the Coimbatore Masonic Charity Trust, which runs a Children’s Hospital and a Working Women’s Hostel and is also a Trustee of GKD Charity Trust, which runs a Management Study College (DJ Academy for Managerial Excellence & DJ Academy of Design) and an Industrial Training Institute (GKD Institute for Technological Resources).

Mr. Murari Pejavar

Mr. Murari Pejavar, a Non-Executive, Independent Director, is M.A. (Economics), from Madras University and had passed State Civil Services in 1955 and Indian Administrative Services in 1957 and retired as Secretary to the President of India in August, 1992. He specializes in the areas of General Industrial Administration, formulation of industrial policies, administration of public and co-operative sector industrial undertakings including sick units, health and family planning sector management, energy sector, financial administration and food processing. At present Mr. Murari is Adviser to President, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI); Advisory Board – Great Lakes Institutes of Management (Affiliated to Kellogg School – USA), Advisory Board – Loyola Institute of Business Administration and Member of Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (State Advisory Committee), Chennai Port Trust Advisory Committee and also Former Chairman of Centre State Relations Committee appointed by GOI.

Mr. Rama Krishna Shetty

Mr. Rama Krishna Shetty, a Non-Executive Independent Director, holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Basaveshwara Engineering College, Bagalkot and has completed an Executive Development program from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management, Mumbai in Production Planning Control and Financial Management. Mr. Shetty has received the National Productivity Award in the year 1992 and was the President of the Indian Hockey Federation and Karnataka State Hockey Association and also the Vice-President of Karnataka Olympic Association. He has more than 31 years of extensive work experience.
